About
The Story
I spent five years in surveying before moving into design, and that background still shapes how I work — I notice where a process is slow or repetitive, and I build something to fix it. Over time that's meant developing automation for documentation that's meaningfully cut down how long that work takes, freeing up time for the parts of the work that actually matter. I'm equally invested in the rollout side of that work: training people properly so a tool actually gets used. My focus now spans infrastructure, estates and greenfields, and residential design, but the surveying and building design experience behind it means I'm comfortable across the whole documentation chain, from raw survey data through to Civil 3D and Revit.
Experience
SENIOR LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN, PLAN E
October 2024 - June 2026
Led CAD operations for the Melbourne office, maintaining drafting standards, layer conventions, and xref file structures across live projects. Introduced 3D landform modelling capability through Civil 3D, expanding the team's technical offering, and developed AutoLISP automation tools to streamline repetitive drafting workflows and improve production efficiency. Coordinated Shepherd's Lane Wetland (Sunbury), a large-scale wetland project requiring close Civil 3D collaboration with engineers, DDA-compliant ramp design, adherence to Melbourne Water grading standards, and consistency across fill volumes. Contributed to Kimberley Estate parks documentation and grading models, including complex mounding, water feature design, and high-standard construction drawing production. Liaised regularly with civil engineers on Civil 3D coordination to ensure alignment between landscape and civil documentation, and supported team members in building CAD competency through informal guidance and knowledge sharing.
LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN, TRACT
December 2021 - October 2024
Worked with the infrastructure team to deliver high quality BIM models and documentation for North East Link (NEL) tunnel in OpenRoads and MicroStation. Collaborated with consultants on NEL to respond to DE comments and coordinate deliveries on ProjectWise. Took responsibility for multi-disciplinary clash detection in Revizto and coordinated and communicated with consultants to get the best outcomes. Assisted with delivery of the New Footscray Hospital on-structure landscape redevelopment in Revit. As part of the Digital Engineering team collaborated on evolving workflows to introduce 3D practices to the company and streamline the processes of working between Civil and Architectural programs company wide. Has been given responsibility of coordination of small teams and has successfully worked with them to deliver and educate about new workflows. Took on a variety of landform models in OpenRoads to produce landform triangles for collaboration with civil consultants.
LAND DESIGN TECHNICIAN, LAND DESIGN PARTNERSHIP
September 2019 - November 2021
Produced high quality documents and images for all stages of the design process in collaboration with the rest of the team. Worked to timelines and was flexible with time as required to successfully see projects of all complexities from concept design through to construction. Curated an image library used to produce still image photo-montages using 3d models and site images. Assisting others in the team through proactive communication and guidance in both software and design methods. Supported new team members integration and education. Notable sites worked on include numerous schools, parks and commercial properties, Kardinia Park, Chirnside Park Country Club, Albury-Wodonga Hospital, Wantirna Aged Care Facility and Heathdale Christian College.
SELECT SOLO PROJECT HISTORY
February 2018 - November 2021
Projects worked on include -
• Contract work to convert a set of Kew house renovation drawings to Revit and redrafting the drawings to resubmit to council.
• Basic drawings and design for sustainable prefabricated disaster relief housing in Sulawesi, Indonesia, for clients to help convey simple, fast housing options following the earthquake and tsunami in the area.
• House renovation designs, drawings and limited co-ordination of other services for a young couple living in Macleod.
